3rd Graders visit Hands Against Hunger

The 3rd grade field trip to Hands Against Hunger (HAH). This trip was amazing. The students packaged 1,728 protein meals for orphans overseas. 1 meal can feed 6 children for 1 day. It was eye opening to see the stark reality that other countries face.
The afternoon was amazing because the children experienced their religious retreat. They asked the BEST questions about the morning and were really interested in learning more. The children rotated between the 3 teachers, each doing a different spiritual activity. In 3M, we listened to the song, “Open my Eyes Lord.” We really focused & listened to the words and putting it into context with the morning at HAH was quite meaningful. Then the children created St. Patrick’s Day or Birthday placemats for Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly. In 3L, the children went to adoration chapel and prayed the rosary for the orphans and starving children in the countries that we learned about from the morning. In 3F, the children made mosaic Easter crosses out of cut paper and/or other various supplies. It was quite a touching day!
