A Note from the Director, Ms. Katie Durstock

Dear Prospective Preschool Family,

We are pleased that you are considering Immaculate Heart of Mary School for your child. Immaculate Heart of Mary School has proven to be a place for Christian education and academic excellence for over fifty years. We hold strong to our commitment of teaching and nurturing the whole child. The Immaculate Heart of Mary School provides a Christian and rigorous educational environment. We value the individual, nurture growth and independence, while promoting lifelong stewardship. Through an integrated curriculum based on the gospel values of Jesus Christ, we seek to develop the full potential of each child as a Christ-like, accountable, respectful and engaged disciple of Christ.

Each child is a special gift from God.  Our Catholic preschool program will strive to create an atmosphere of Christian love and concern which promotes the healthy development of each child.   Our goal is to provide learning experiences and play activities that encourage spiritual, intellectual, social and physical growth of each unique individual. 

Our preschool program is fully licensed by the Ohio Department of Education.  Students enrolled in our preschool program will take a hands-on approach to learning.  Our curriculum follows the Early Learning Content Standards & Development from the Ohio Department of Education.  Our teachers all hold current teaching licenses and work throughout the year to attend many professional development workshops and classes to guide them in providing an environment in which all students are successful.

Students will take part in daily prayer experiences.  A Catholic preschool program fosters the awakening of the Christian conscience in the children by leading them to appreciate God’s goodness, value God’s world and the people in it, form good habits and help those in need.  Our learning community will engage children in activities that nurture kindness, honesty, forgiveness and concern for others.
