Biography

Hello, my name is Nicole Herzog.  This will be my fifth year teaching and my second year teaching at IHM.  I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a double major in Elementary Education and Communications.  After graduating from NKU, I taught in Kentucky for three years before deciding to stay home and raise my children.  I live in Batavia with my husband and our three children.  Jaida will be in third grade at IHM, Maycee will be in first grade at IHM and Bowen is four years old.    I feel so blessed to be a part of such a great group of teachers here at IHM!

My Philosophy

I believe in a learning environment in which students feel comfortable and where expectations and rules are consistent and clear.  It is important to me that students feel safe and comfortable enough to ask questions and be themselves.  I encourage students to take responsibility for their learning and to develop a pride in their own work.  I also believe that all children can and will learn.  Children learn through many different learning styles, and it is very important to me that I teach using many different methods to reach all children.  Not only do students learn as individuals, but students also work and learn together.  We are a team in 1H!  Teams work together, and together, everyone achieves much success.
