Work expectations:

All students have a religion book.  That book is a consumable and may be written in.  Highlighting is encouraged.  Papers are to be kept in the accordion. Please do not remove any papers as they will be used for the final exam. 6th graders will also have information in their 3 ring binder.

Exams - Exams are cumulative.  6th graders will have a Religion exam after the first trimester and the third trimester.  5th grade will have an exam at the end of the year. Please see the school calendar for more information on exam dates.

Class work - Students are to use good writing skills on all assignments turned in.  They are expected to have a name on paper, written in pencil with mistakes corrected, using proper spelling and punctuation.  Checking your work before turning it in is highly recommended.

Trimester prayers - Students will memorize one prayer per trimester. They are to recite the prayer correctly to me.  It is a pass/fail assignment and they can take the test at anytime during the trimester.

6th - Act of Hope - Use the version on the printed sheet handed to the student.

5th -The Fatima Prayer - Oh My Jesus,

Forgive us  our sins,

Save us from the fires of Hell,

Lead all souls to Heaven,

Especially those in most need of thy mercy.

What we are learning-

We are learning about the Saints.  Students will be creating a saint book in class.  We will research several saints and find out where they are from. This is a wonderful way to celebrate Catholic Schools Week.

What we are learning-

We are moving into the Promised Land.  We will follow the Israelites as they establish God's kingdom. We will learn about the cycle of Judges and how a judge in the Bible is different than what we might think of as a judge.

My teaching philosophy - Students and teachers are to given gifts by God.  It is our responsibility to use those gifts to the best of our ability every day.  Religion class is to help us learn more about our faith so we can grow in our relationship with God.  We will do activities to help us learn the content and activities to help us grow in our faith.
