All About Mrs. Georgin I am originally from Dayton, Ohio where I grew up and attended Chaminade-Julienne High School. After graduation I spent two years at Loyola University in Chicago, where I began my undergraduate degree in English. I transferred to Xavier University, and completed my bachelor's degree in Language Arts in 2002. I received my Master's of Education from Xavier University in the winter of 2004. I held a position as a Contract Substitute Teacher at Princeton Community Middle School during the 2004-2005 school year. I am now very excited to be a member of the IHM community, and am looking forward to a wonderful year. My Educational Philosophy I believe that students learn for life, and that an education should be built upon the morals and values of the Catholic Faith. The classroom is a community comprised of teachers, students, and parents working together to achieve a cohesive education that is productive. The success of a lesson depends of the teacher's ability to incorporate creativity, as well as information. Humor can be a wonderful way to share both knowledge and faith. The education of my students is designed around an acknowledgement and celebration of diversity, creative intellectual endeavors, and an awareness and appreciation for the gifts from God that surround them in all of creation. My students will work together in groups so that they might benefit from the unique contributions that each individual has to offer. They will gradually take responsibility for their own learning to give them pride in their accomplishments, and humility in their understanding of what remains to be learned.
