I'm a graduate of Xavier University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Education. While at Xavier, I focused on British Literature, Poetry, Eco-critical Theory, and Professional and Creative Writing.
I became an English Teacher because I enjoy working with children, and helping them overcome obstacles to better themselves. My teaching career began when I started tutoring at a elementary school downtown Cincinnati. This experience taught me that children know more than we think, but struggle with expressing their ideas in a way we can understand. I believe that every child deserves the right to learn how to communicate effectively, and has the skills to share their understanding and ideas in a way that is easily understood. In my class, we focus on improving our writing with weekly journals, argumentative essays, and a researched expository essay.
