Hello everyone!  My name is Patty Queener.  I am the Art Teacher at IHOM.  I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (BFA) from Mt. Saint Joseph University aka The College of Mt. Saint Joseph with a concentration in painting and ceramics and a minor in art history.  I had the privilege of studying under the instruction of Loyola Walters, Pam Korte, Jerry Bellas, Craig Lloyd, Helen Rindsberg, Shawnee Greene, Young Hi Lee (AAC) and many others. In 2012 I was blessed with the opportunity to travel to Japan visiting Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, and working with a 7^th generation potter, Ikuhiko Shibata, in Tajimi.

I live in Bellevue, KY near the Ohio River. I have two children and two grandchildren.  My daughter is a fifth grade English teacher and lives near Nashville, TN. My son-in-law is a Metropolitan Police Officer and works in Investigation. They have given me two beautiful grandchildren. My granddaughter turned four in September and my grandson will be two in December.  My son lives in Cincinnati, OH and is an Airline Pilot for Air Wisconsin which is a flo-thru to United Airlines and soon American Airlines. 

When I am not spending time with my lovely family and being creative in some way, I enjoy serving in or near my community and being involved with my church.  I enjoy walking in my urban community, taking nature walks, reading, flowers/plants, and second-hand shops.

K:  Learning the Elements of Art and incorporating into projects.  Currently, small halloween projects.  Soon, sunflower painting.

1-3:  Learning to mix colors and dark and light (value).  Learning the Elements of Art and incorporating into projects. Small Halloween project.  Soon, sunflower painting.

3-6:  Collage using Van Gogh's sunflowers as inspiration (Understanding Principles of Design for 5^th and 6th)

7-8: Starting printmaking Collage project (Understanding Principles of Design)

November: 

k-4: Continue learning the Elements of Art and incorporate into a "Grateful Heart" project (line drawings of hands)
