My Bio

I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in Middle Childhood Education with an emphasis in the areas of math, science, and social studies. This is my fourteenth-year teaching junior high science and sixth as the head of the junior high team at Immaculate Heart of Mary.  Thirteen years ago, I founded my Brainworks class, which includes a sheep brain dissection, that is offered to the seventh graders in the spring. I also founded the HSPT (High School Placement Test) prep class, which is offered to the eighth graders in the fall.

I love coming to school every day because the junior high students are an amazing group of kids to work with and science is a fun subject to master and explore through all the hands-on labs, dissections, and projects implemented at IHM. I enjoy presenting real-world challenges to the students and observing their intellectual and social growth as they critically think and collaborate with their peers for possible solutions.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, trying new foods, and watching soccer, especially FC Cincinnati.
