IF MY CHILD IS SICK, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Please call the absent tardy line which is available 24 hours a day. The number is 513-388-5650. It is necessary to call this number if your child is ill or if you are going out of town. Simply letting your teacher know is not enough. It is school policy that homework is not given in advance in the case of an out of town event. If your child is sick. Please let us know if you would like your child's homework sent home with another student.

DO YOU DIFFERENTIATE INSTRUCTION?

We think it is absolutely necessary to differentiate instruction since all students are at different levels. We also love to differentiate instruction too! After assessing all students, we will begin to make accommodations as we see necessary so that each student's learning needs are being met.

HOW DO YOU ACCOMMODATE MULTIPLE LEARNING STYLES?

We know that all students think and learn differently. As a result, our lessons incorporate elements which reach the variety of learning styles in our classrooms. This way, all children can be successful learners!

CAN I VOLUNTEER IN YOUR CLASSROOM?

We welcome parent volunteers in our classrooms during the times with which we are allotted. However, all volunteers must attend the VIRTUS Training class prior to volunteering. Once you have had the training, you must stay current on your bulletins to continue visiting the classroom. Please let us know if you are unable to keep the time for which you volunteered.

HOW DO YOU COMMUNICATE WITH PARENTS?

We believe parent-teacher communication is extremely important! As a result, we consistently communicate with parents in a variety of ways. Red folders, newsletters, emails, and classroom websites are just a few of the ways that we communicate with parents.

WHAT CAN I BRING IN FOR MY CHILD’S BIRTHDAY?

Birthday treats must be non-edible due to allergies and medical conditions. This is a school-wide policy.

DO YOU HAVE SNACK EACH DAY?

Yes, we do have snack each day. You may pack your child a healthy, dry snack. Snacks need to be peanut free.

DO YOU ALLOW WATER BOTTLES IN YOUR CLASSROOM?

Yes, we do allow water bottles inside of the classroom. Water bottles must be spill-proof and kept inside of each child's backpack. This is highly recommended as it decreases the amount of time lost due to trips to the water fountain.

CAN I EACH LUNCH WITH MY CHILD?

Your child would be so excited to have a special visitor for lunch! Please remember, that it is school's policy that visitors must bring a packed lunch to eat with their child or buy the lunch provided by the school. All visitors must also be trained through VIRTUS.

WHAT IF MY CHILD’S DISMISSAL PLAN CHANGES?

If your child's dismissal plan changes prior to the start of the school day. Please place a note in your child's red folder. If your child's dismissal plan changes during the school day, you must call and notify the office.This is the only way to be certain that your child's teacher is notified of the change.

WHY IS THE RED FOLDER SO IMPORTANT?

The red folder is a means of communication between school and home. You will always find your child's homework in this folder. You should expect the red folder to come home each day and it is expected to be returned the following school day.
