IHM PTO Presents Everybody Counts!

At IHM School – Everybody Counts

The Immaculate Heart of Mary PTO sponsored the Annual Everybody Counts Campaign again this year for our students and staff. Speakers from various organizations and walks of life spoke to our students over a 2 week period how all individuals in society make a difference.

*Kurt Reiber from Freestore Foodbank spoke to our 8th Grade students regarding the plight of homelessness in our society and how their organization is making a difference.

*IHM Parishioner and school parent Joddy Kuhn spoke to 7th Graders about Autism.

*6th Graders were visited by Don Hubbard who spoke about life with Epilepsy.

* Heather Walsh, IHM Parishioner, school parent and coordinator of Everybody Counts, spoke to our 5th Grade students about Down Syndrome.

*Former IHM student Jonathan Yantek spoke to 4th Grade students about physical impairment.

*The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati, represented by Joanie Elfers, Rebecca and Natalia, spoke to our 3rd Grade students.

*2nd Grade students heard from Jacob Klump on living his life with a hearing impairment.

*1st Grade students heard Joanne Middlekamp speak on visual impairment. *Our Kindergarteners learned how we are all different with speakers Rachel and Tim Steffen.

IHM School gives a warm thanks to all the individuals who spoke to our students and our PTO for providing such a wonderful experience for our students!
