Principal's Message

Dear IHM Crusaders,

I want to welcome everyone to the 2017-2018 school year. Immaculate Heart of Mary is an amazing place to be. This year we will bring our entire school community together with a common theme, Sing A New Song! We are Crusaders who CARE (Christ-like, Accountable, Respectful, Engaged). As Catholic individuals, we look to God to give us strength as we move through life. Our children must depend on us to give them strength to guide their academic and spiritual development as they move through these foundational years. Our entire IHM school community is committed to working together to provide the strength needed to our students and their families.

As the new school year begins, there is much to celebrate. We are welcoming 620 day school students to IHM and 120 preschool students and their families to our community. I am also very excited to welcome our new staff members. Ms. Sears will be teaching Kindergarten. Ms. Ragland will be teaching 3rd grade.  Mrs. Storm will be teaching 5th grade ELA and Ms. Quinn will be teaching 6th grade Math and Science. We welcome a new 8th grade team. Ms.DiPaolo will be teaching ELA, Mr. Heyl will be teaching Social Studies and Mr. English will be teaching Math. We also welcome Mr. Newmann as our new physical education teacher. As we continue to grow and develop the numerous assets of our school, we have some teachers who have taken different classroom assignments throughout the building. I am looking forward to the countless opportunities these changes will bring to our students.

As we grow and move forward, we will focus on keeping the strong academic and spiritual traditions we have at our school while finding new ways meet the ever-changing needs of our students. In cooperation with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, our school is committed to providing an atmosphere in which the Gospel message is proclaimed, community in Christ experienced, service to our brothers and sisters is achieved, and thanksgiving and worship is cultivated. As our parish and school community continues to grow, the opportunities for our families are bountiful. I would invite families to take advantage of these opportunities throughout the year. Make a commitment to attain a closer relationship with God and participate in the sacramental and community life of our parish.

I truly believe in the importance of a strong home-school partnership to achieve the excellence that our students deserve. This relationship is vital to the success of each child and I feel blessed to be a part of the IHM community where this is evident. I am committed to foster this relationship and communicate what is happening at IHM throughout the year.

I look forward to working with you throughout the school year to empower our students to achieve their potential and use their gifts to serve God and others. I have an open door policy. I invite you to stop by the office when you are in the building. If you have any questions or concerns as we move through the school year, please don’t hesitate to call me at 388-3022. Together, we will continue to build a school community for our students where we can educate their minds, nurture their hearts and provide them with strength for their journey. I will keep you all in my prayers as we begin this school year and ask you to do the same.

Many blessings to you and your family!
