- Vocabulary: many of our vocabulary words are scientific, therefore, application of these words can be difficult. Students need to recognize the meaning of the words in given sentences.
- Vocabulary Strategy: Synonyms and Antonyms Students will be asked to find words with similar meanings and words with opposite meanings.
- Grammar: Identification, Understanding, and application of verbs (i.e. linking verbs, helping verbs, verb tenses, and action verbs).
Examples: run - ran, will run, has ran, will be running, sing, sang, will sing, eat, have eaten, will eat, is eating, smile, smiled, was smiling, is smiling, etc.
