Hello and welcome to my page. I am a proud graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education (math concentration) and from Northern Kentucky University with a master’s degree in accounting. After teaching for 8 years, I changed careers to work in corporate banking where I spent nearly a quarter-century working with small businesses and being bank president before I retired. A few months into retirement, I developed a desire to come back to the classroom.
Now, I teach junior high math at IHM. Math is a subject students use daily so I feel it's necessary to take a wholistic approach. I like to use real-world examples giving students opportunities to understand why math is so important. Students who put forth a sincere effort in my class will always succeed. I expect all students to come to class prepared not only with the right material, but also with the right frame of mind.
My approach to teaching prepares my students for what lies ahead not only in high school but beyond. The foundation for self-motivation and self-discipline are laid in junior high.
I love working with the students at IHM and teaching math. I am excited to come to school everyday!
