good morning Smarties misses feeling wants to talk to you a little bit more about subtraction guys have been really writing from grade subtraction sentences today is Trace I can't and I cut it out and now when I write some subtraction sentences I can just use this hand so I can say okay I'm going to start off with five fingers so I would write 5 - c let's take away two fingers so I'm just going to bed nose and cover those up five minus the two equals 233 next I'm going to write the fact family that belongs with that with using those numbers remember a family Million numbers are numbers that belong together so now what I'm going to do I'm going to use five again - but instead of saying - 2 I'm going to say -3 wine to 3 equals 2 equals 3.5 - 3 equals and so what we would say is this is part of a fact family okay so maybe we would do let's try another one that start with just three fingers 3 - 2 equals how many 613 - 2 equals what I know what I'm going to do is I'm going to do the fact family that belongs with. I'm going to start with three against SRI and instead of saying - 2 - 100 now I cut cake 1 how do you spell left and that's right to equals to so you can see a fact family uses all the same numbers 3 - 2 equals what 3 - 1 equals to have a great day boys and girls and start practicing some of those fact families for subtraction
