I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Childhood Education with an emphasis in the areas of math, science, and social studies. This is my ninth year teaching junior high science and first as the head of the junior high team at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Seven years ago, I founded my Brainworks class, including a sheep brain dissection, which is offered to the seventh graders in the spring. I also co-founded the HSPT (High School Placement Test) prep class, which is offered to the eighth graders in the fall. It's also my first year offering a 3D printing class to the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students.
I love coming to school every day because the junior high students are an amazing group of kids to work with and science is a fun subject to master and explore through all the hands-on labs, dissections, and projects implemented at IHM. I enjoy presenting real-world challenges to the students and observing their intellectual and social growth as they critically think and collaborate with their peers for possible solutions.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, trying new foods, and watching soccer. I've been an FC Cincinnati season ticket holder since their inaugural season, and I'm looking forward to them being in the MLS in 2019. I enjoy going to games with my family, teaching my kids the various FCC cheers, and watching their excitement as they root for the orange and blue!
