My Bio

I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in Middle Childhood Education with an emphasis in the areas of math, science, and social studies. This is my fifteenth year teaching junior high science and seventh as the head of the junior high team at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Fourteen years ago, I founded my Brainworks class, which includes a sheep brain dissection, that is offered to the seventh graders in the spring. I also founded the HSPT (High School Placement Test) prep class, which is offered to the eighth graders in the fall.

I love coming to school every day because the junior high students are an amazing group of kids to work with and science is a fun subject to master and explore through all the hands-on labs, dissections, and projects implemented at IHM. I enjoy presenting real-world challenges to the students and observing their intellectual and social growth as they critically think and collaborate with their peers for possible solutions.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, trying new foods, and watching soccer, especially FC Cincinnati.
